In its 187th board meeting held recently, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) approved a staggering budget of ₹5,148 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This budget is a clear indicator of the rapid expansion planned for the "New Lucknow" zones.

Where the Money is Going:
  • Land Acquisition (₹1,600 Crore): The lion’s share is dedicated to securing land for the IT City, Wellness City, Naimish Nagar, and Varun Vihar projects. This ensures these townships stay on track for delivery.
  • Green Corridor (₹400 Crore): Continued funding for the riverfront green corridor to improve city-wide connectivity.
  • Affordable Housing (₹200 Crore): Specifically for 848 new flats in Sharda Nagar Extension.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance (₹1,298 Crore): For the upkeep and development of existing housing schemes.
Investor Alert: The board also approved a 3% hike in map approval fees starting April 1, 2026. However, prices in Parijat and Panchsheel apartments have been frozen for one year, offering a small window of stability for middle-income buyers. This budget reinforces Sultanpur Road as the primary growth engine of the city.
